Chennai-based Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals pared its losses during the quarter ended March 31, 2014, to ₹80.79 crore from ₹ 132.26 crore during the comparable quarter last fiscal. Operating income increased 69 per cent to ₹452.72 crore. “Better capacity utilisation and higher sales of our products helped achieve this,” K Raghavendra Rao, Managing Director, told Business Line . The company’s finance costs increased 18.9 per cent to ₹102.02 crore in Q4.
