TUI Travel India, part of TUI Travel PLC, has appointed Mr Shashank Mishra as Assistant Vice-President - Sports. With its new sports arm, TUI India plans to venture into sports tourism, in association with world-class sporting events, the company said. As AVP - Sports, Mr Mishra will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives for the sports division of TUI India. Prior to joining TUI, he was heading SOTC Sports, which is the sports vertical of Kuoni India. In his other previous roles, he has held many positions in travel companies like Kuoni, Thomas Cook and Cox and Kings. TUI India was formed in the year 2006 as a result of a joint partnership between in-bound destination management company, Le Passage to India, and leisure travel company, TUI Travel PLC.
