Adani Power Ltd, the power arm of Adani Group, has reported standalone net profit of ₹358 crore for the quarter ended March 2016, against ₹418 crore in the same period last year, showing a decline of 14 per cent on the year-on-year basis.

Total income from operations for the quarter stood at ₹3631.32 crore against ₹2,493.50 crore in the same period last year.

For the financial year 2015-16, APL posted standalone net profit of ₹5.62 crore against net loss of ₹69 crore in the previous year.

Robust performance Vineet Jain, Chief Executive Officer, Adani Power, commented, “During the year, the company has demonstrated robust operational and financial performance.

Mundra plant’s generation of 33.1 billion units during the year is the highest by any thermal power plant in the country which is the testimony of our achievement.”

On a consolidated basis, APL posted net profit of ₹1,173.39 crore for the March quarter against ₹715.05 crore reported in the corresponding quarter a year ago, showing a growth of 64 per cent on year-on-year basis.

Total income stood at ₹7,344.39 crore against ₹4,667.56 crore.

For the financial year 2015-16, APL's consolidated net profit stood at ₹488.48 crore against the net loss of ₹815.63 crore in the previous year.

Total income from operations stood at ₹25,231.57 crore against ₹19,544.94 crore.

On Tuesday, APL shares fell over 2 per cent on the stock exchanges to close at ₹31.60 on the NSE.
