Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd has recorded a net profit of Rs 12.68 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011, against Rs 4.31 crore it logged during the corresponding quarter last year.
According to a filing made to the stock exchanges, the net sales income for the quarter was up significantly at Rs 157.22 crore against Rs 72.96 crore for the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The quarter on quarter numbers are not comparable as the company resumed its commercial operations from May 1, 2010 and entire April 2010 was under trial run, Dr Mullapudi Harischandra Prasad, Managing Director of Andhra Petro, said.
For the financial year ended March 31, 2011, the company closed with sales of Rs 456.57 crore and a net profit of Rs 35.63 crore.
The company’s shares closed the day’s trade up 1.15 per cent at Rs 30.80.
