Ashok Leyland Limited has launched new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Partner truck in Andhra Pradesh market packing with comfort features including air-conditioner and expects to go pan-India with it by March.

After the commercially successful launch of Dost and the recently launched STiLE, an utlility vehicle, Partner is the latest offering from the Ashok Leyland–Nissan joint venture, and is currently offered by Nissan in other markets.

“This is an exciting addition to our LCV portfolio and we are confident of delighting customers and continuing the successful winning streak of the Dost and the critically acclaimed, newly launched STiLE,” he said.

The segment in which Partner fits (3.5 tonnes to 7 tonnes) is estimated to be about 30,000 vehicles per annum.

The Government has announced reduction in excise duty. Hope this move along with some positive measures by the RBI in reducing the interest rates will help create momentum in the market, he said.

Partner is being presented as the next-generation truck that focuses on driver comfort and sports a modern Euro cab with spacious car-like interiors while offering global levels of performance and efficiency.

With a gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity of 6.6 Tonnes, the Partner is expected to address various applications like parcel goods, durables, perishables and FMCG products among others. With a tiltable cabin for service accessibility, it comes with a choice of two wheel base options and optional HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning) system.

The fuel efficient Partner is powered by an advanced ZD30 Common Rail diesel engine and hosts features like power steering with tilt-able adjustment and cable-operated gear shifter for superior driver comfort. The company is offering an engine and transmission warranty of three years/three lakh km and a standard warranty of 1 year/unlimited km on the overall vehicle.

Partner range is priced starting with Rs 8.72 lakh and going up to Rs 9.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
