BASF India on Friday said it expects up to Rs 1,000-crore revenue from its new plant at Dahej in Gujarat.
“We expect our Dahej plant, which will be operational from 2014, to contribute about Rs 800-1,000 crore to the overall revenue of the company,” said Mr Prasad Chandran, Chairman and Managing Director, BASF India.
BASF India had yesterday announced that its board has approved the proposal for setting up a new production facility at Dahej with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
The Dahej plant will mainly cater to the western and the northern regions, while its Mangalore plant in Karnataka will cater to the eastern, central and southern regions, Mr Chandran added.
The new facility, which will employ more than 250 people at full capacity primarily in operations, will be an integrated hub for polyurethane manufacturing. It will also house production facilities for care chemicals and polymer dispersions for coatings and paper.
