The toll in the HPCL Visakha refinery accident which occurred last week rose to 19, with one more contract worker succumbing to burn injuries here on Friday night, according to a press release.
G. Varun Kumar, 20, died here on Friday night and 16 more are undergoing treatment in various hospitals here and eight workers in Mumbai. The condition of the workers being treated at the
National Burns Centre in Mumbai is said to be stable.
Cleaning of debris from the accident site is almost completed. A cheque for Rs 20 lakh was handed over to the family of Varun Kumar.
