Cosmetics brand Maybelline, a part of beauty major L’Oreal Paris, has partnered IT major Infosys to develop a Web site that will deliver the latest promotions for new products, tutorial videos and make up tips to Maybelline users.
The Web site, to be developed for various mobile platforms, will also allow easy browsing of products from the company.
The brand’s aim is to reach out to the rising number of mobile Internet consumers in Asia. A recent data shows the percentage of internet traffic in this region has risen from 23 per cent to 37 per cent on mobile devices last year, well above the global average of 25 per cent.
Visna Lim, Digital Head for South Asia for Maybelline & L’Oreal Paris (Consumer Product Goods Division), said, “We chose Infosys to capitalise on their recognised expertise in mobile and digital technologies as well as their deep understanding of the consumer products industry. We were impressed by the strength of their proposal and quality of work, knowing that the specifications included complex and demanding criteria.”
The Web site will be launched in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in another two months.
