The arrival of the monsoons, though delayed, is expected to help boost tractor sales around October this year. According to agri-machinery-maker Escorts Ltd, tractor sales that had remained flat between April and June this year is likely to move up towards the latter half of the year (post-monsoon period).
“Since the monsoons have been delayed this year, we expect sales to recover around October,” Shenu Agarwal, head-marketing, Escorts Ltd, said here on Wednesday.
According to Agarwal, the delayed monsoons saw people hold back their purchases. Typically, for the agri-sector, tractor sales peak between April to June and in October.
