Ravi Uppal has been appointed as Managing Director and CEO of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd.
An alumini of IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad, Uppal has worked earlier with companies such as ABB, Volvo and recently with Larsen and Toubro.
Uppal brings with him more than 35 years of experience in engineering and infrastructure segments in India and abroad.
Ravi Uppal will report to JSPL Group chairman Naveen Jindal, said a company release. Uppal’s appointment is in line with Group’s further continued effort to further strengthen and professionalise its management, the release said. The Jindal Steel scrip ended marginally higher at Rs 427.50 on the BSE before the announcement on Friday.
