Rays Power Infra has commissioned a 10 MW solar power plant at Midjil in Mahbubnagar district (of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh), which is now part of Telangana state.

The project has been set up with an investment of Rs 65 crore and has an estimated annual output of 18 million KWH. The power will be sold at competitive market prices equivalent to commercial tariffs in Hyderabad.

Ketan Mehta, Rays Power Infra Director, in a statement said, “Completing the project within hundred days exhibits our capability in building solar power projects.”

The project will supply power to corporate offices in Hyderabad and one of the largest banks in the world.

It is the largest third party open access project in the State and sets an example for any consumer as to how to hedge their power tariffs. Consumers would be able to get power at much lesser price in comparison to what government provides them.

Started as a brainchild of IIT Roorkee professors and students, Rays Power Infra is one of the solar power service providers in India and a developer of solar parks.
