Continuing with its expansion in India, Tata Starbucks today said it has added three more outlets of the US-based coffee chain in Delhi and Mumbai.

The firm, a 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Global Beverages Co, said with the opening of the new outlets, its total store count has gone up to 15 in India.

“We will continue to extend our presence in locations where our customers want and expect us to be to enjoy the unique third place between work and home,” Tata Starbucks CEO, Avani Davda said.

The three stores, two in Delhi and one in Mumbai, will have seating capacity of less than 75 persons each.

Starbucks had opened its first outlet in India in October 2012 through the partnership with Tatas.

Earlier this year, Tata Global Beverages had said the JV would meet its target of opening 50 outlets of the world’s largest coffee chain in India by this year, a delay of one year from the original schedule.
