Titan’s consumer business division Titan Eye Plus has created a new category — The Forty Plus — to tap the prescription eyewear market.
Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Industries, said, “The company is exploring newer ways to charm customers. Targeting people above the age of 40 years is one such initiative. This segment in the country is an untapped market.”
Under this brand, the company has introduced a collection of frames specially designed for those who wear bifocal and progressive lenses.
“To tap this new market segment, we have introduced over 100 styles with popular colours, priced at the starting range of Rs 995,” said Ravi Kant, CEO, Eyewear Division, Titan Industries.
For the prescription eyewear products, the company has put in place a mechanism to source 30 per cent of the lenses in-house and the rest from European company Indo-Optics. The company will initially launch the range across all Titan Eye Plus stores in 82 cities.
