Fertiliser and seeds company Zuari Agro Chemicals today said the urea/ammonia plant in Goa, which was shutdown for annual maintenance, could not be resumed due to water crisis.
The company had shutdown its urea/ammonia plant from March 24 for annual maintenance.
“Though the turnaround work is completed, the urea/ ammonia plant operations could not be started as per the plan in view of non-availability of water from the Government of Goa,” Zuari Agro said in a filing to the BSE.
The company will update about the commencement of the production as soon as the plant operations resume, it said.
Part of the Adventz group, the company has a facility at Goa, with four plants dedicated to manufacturing of urea, DAP and NPK based fertilisers.
Zuari’s fertiliser plants have an annual installed capacity of 9,46,000 tonnes. Its ammonia plant has an installed capacity of 660 tonnes per day, while the urea plant is a single stream plant and has a capacity of 1,140 tonnes per day.
