The World Electricity Forum witnessed the signing of seven MoUs for 24X7 power for all between Union Energy Ministry and state governments of Maharashtra, Punjab, Sikkim, Odisha, Karnataka and Kerala.
These MoU will help in strengthening the financial health of State Electricity Boards and were signed on the inaugural day of five-day ELECRAMA-2016 show of Indian electrical sector.
At the event Gujarat signed the MoU for UDAY scheme of the Central Government.
Earlier, Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy inaugurated ELECRAMA 2016 in the presence of the Karnataka Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, Power Secretary, P K Pujari, Coal Secretary, Anil Swarup, State Power Secretaries, CMDs of Power Utilities, Senior officials of MoP, Babu Babel, President, IEEMA, ELECRAMA 2016, Organising Committee Chairman, Aaditya R Dhoot and other senior bureaucrats and industry leaders.
