The Union Cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod for signing of a protocol amending the existing double taxation avoidance (DTAA) pact with Belgium.
The amendment will broaden the scope of existing framework of exchange of tax related information between two countries, which will help curb tax evasion and tax avoidance, an official release said.
The protocol will also revise the existing treaty provisions on mutual assistance in collection of taxes, the release added.
