The Union Government on Thursday would formally inaugurate a clutch of labour reform moves. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate Shram Suvidha Portal, labour inspection scheme and employees’ portability through Universal Account Number for provident fund, according to a Union Labour Ministry note.
The new portal will be primarily for transparent information facilitation for employees and employers. The new inspection scheme will provide for e-filing facilities for all labour law-related returns by the employers.
The Universal Account Number for provident fund account, generated by Emplyees Provident Fund Organisation, will act as an umbrella for the multiple member Ids allotted to an individual by different establishments. This will help the member to view details of the account and allow seamless portablility in case of job changes.
The Prime Minister will also launch the “Apprentices Protsahan Yojana”. At function in the Capital on Thursday, he will felicitate National Brand Ambassadors for Vocational Training and will distribute prizes for All India Skill Competitions.
