The super-air conditioned (AC) class of rail service for passengers will be priced lower than the AC-I prices and higher than AC-II class of service.
The Railway Ministry plans to introduce a service called the super-AC class, as announced in the Railway Budget 2011-12.
“We feel there is a market for such a product. The design is being worked out. The number of berths in such coaches will be higher than what you get in AC-I coaches.
“Compared to the AC-II coaches, it will have lower number of berths and better facilities,” an official source said.
