The International Container Transhipment Terminal at Vallarpadam handled 33.46 moves GCR (gross crane rates) on MV Seaways Venture on Monday, the best DP World Cochin has done on vessels with more than 100 moves.
This is the result of the strong commitment DP World has towards customer support, a press release said. The ICTT had started operations in February, said the release, and this is a feather in the cap of the company.
Gross crane rate is used to measure performance. It affects the time a ship stays berthed in the terminal.
With this strong commitment, it said, ICTT has reduced the average truck turnaround time from more than an hour to 38 minutes. It shows the operational efficiency of ICTT team and demonstrates faith of customers in the facilities at ICTT, the release added.
