New Delhi, March 30 The Air India employees’ union has decided to call off the proposed strike which was to start from April 2.
Airline sources indicated that this emerged after a meeting between a meeting of the Air India CMD, Mr Rohit Nandan, and representatives of the eight unions.
The unions were striking to protest against the delay in receiving their salaries. They claimed that the employees had not been paid for several months.
Confirming that the strike has been called off, Mr Nandan said that the union has agreed to a management proposal for payment schedules so that all the previous wages will be cleared by June.
