Chennai Metro Rail Ltd on Saturday conducted trial run in the underground stretch between Thirumangalam ramp and Anna Nagar tower station.
The trial with overhead engine inspection wagon was conducted between 11 am and 1 pm in a stretch of 2 km.
The inspection included quality of civil, electrical and systems like signalling work, quality of track work, platform screen doors works at Thirumangalam station, Thirumangalam and Anna Nagar Tower underground station works and safety- related works.
The trials and inspections will be done for several months, and will gradually cover more stretches and systems from Koyembedu up to Nehru Park (8.5 km).
Once the electrical traction work is completed, the trials and inspection will be conducted through the normal metro rail trains, says a CMRL statement.
