Airtel announces new tariff plan for Kolkata 4G users

Bharti Airtel on Thursday announced new tariff plans for its 4G users in Kolkata. Under one of the plans, called Breakfree Unlimited, users will pay Rs 2,999 for 30 GB of data usage. After completion of allotted data usage, data speeds will be at 128 kbps.

The offer is a available for both prepaid and postpaid users. While prepaid users need not pay tax, postpaid users will be taxed on their monthly bills. This apart, users will have to purchase separate 4G enabled dongles.

A 4G network allow faster download and upload speed for data compared to the existing 2G and 3G networks. While calls are not possible on a 4G network, 2G and 3G networks allow both voice and data usage.

According to a press release issued by Airtel, postpaid users will be refunded the device or dongle costs in 12 monthly discounts of Rs 666 each.
