Cognizant Technology Solutions has reported a 21 per cent increase in net profit to $252 million compared to $208 million in the second quarter of 2011. It managed to beat Infosys’ year-on-year profitability growth (of 8.3 per cent) comfortably but was no way near to that of Tata Consultancy Services (38 per cent).
Quarterly revenue rose to $1.8 billion, up 20 per cent from $1.5 billion in the second quarter of 2011.
The company’s net headcount addition for the quarter was approximately 4,700, says a company press release.
