Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic, an end-to-end information technology solutions provider, said the company is seeking opportunities from projects such as smart cities in India and for that it will set up a data centre.

The company will hire 1,400 people by 2018, doubling the headcount from right now, Yoshinori Okami, Director and Chairman, Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic, told BusinessLine .

“We have already started a network operating centre in Delhi and will start a security operation centre from January. We have only 10 people right now in the network operating centre, but it will be more than 100 people within next two years,” he said.

He said the company was exploring for place to set up the security operation centre, but most probably it may come up either in Ahmedabad or Pune.

While it could set up data centre in Bengaluru or Pune, he said, adding that the company was in discussion with NetMagic Solutions for the same.

“We are focusing on setting up a data centre in India as we feel local businesses should be done with local data centres. Therefore, we would like to start a data centre here and we are talking to partners. We are in discussion with NetMagic for it,” Okami said.

He said the parent company, Hitachi Systems, has 18 data centres in Japan for various operations .

“We are targeting ₹600-crore revenue by 2017, more than 50 per cent from ₹300 crore now,” he said. The company has 70 per cent revenues from private sectors and the rest from the government projects, which in future will become 50:50, he added.

Hitachi Systems had acquired the Indian firm Micro Clinic last year in a deal amounting between ₹80 crore and ₹100 crore.
