Almost all the pulse seeds in Indore mandis are witnessing rally amid steep decline in arrivals and chana is no exception to it. Chana prices in the past one week have gone up by ₹200 a quintal, with chana (kanta) on Tuesday being quoted at ₹4,625-50. Chana (desi) ruled at ₹4,200. Chana dal (average) was at ₹5,300-5,400 (up ₹250 from last week), chana dal (medium) rose to ₹5,500-5,600, while chana dal (bold) was quoted at ₹5,900-6,200. Dollar chana also gained higher on weak arrival and improved buying support with its prices in local mandis on Tuesday being quoted at ₹5,200-5,500. In container also, dollar chana (42/44 count) fetched ₹6,300-25; 44/46 count at ₹6,100-25; 48/50 count ₹5,900-25; 58/60 count ₹5,300-25, while dollar chana 60/62 count ruled at ₹5,200-25 a quintal respectively.
