Tea prices rise 1.7% in Q1

South India helped the country’s tea prices to remain above last year in the first quarter of current calendar even as North India posted price loss. In the first quarter of current calendar, South Indian tea prices gained significantly, reveals our analysis of the latest auction reports and the data available with Tea Board. From January and March, average price at North Indian auctions dropped to ₹118.85 a kg from ₹121.80 in Jan-March 2016.
