With the markets recovering, bank stocks were back in reckoning in the morning trade today.
SBI gained Rs 26.80 to trade at Rs 1,856, Axis Bank was up at Rs 983.80, a gain of Rs 12.55, and ICICI Bank gained Rs 10.75 to trade at Rs 804.85.
Other major gainers were BoI, which was up by Rs 7.10 at Rs 314, BoB that was trading at Rs 654.40, a gain of Rs 13.60, Canara Bank that edged up to Rs 402.35, a gain of Rs 7.75, HDFC Bank, which was up by Rs 8.85 to Rs 504, and Yes Bank that was trading at Rs 313.05, a gain of Rs 8.20.
Other bank stocks on the BSE Bankex made small gains and all the 14 Bankex stocks were in the green with the Bankex gaining about 175 points.
