The telecom sector remains dominated by private operators with a 92.14 per cent market share, while public sector operators BSNL and MTNL hold 7.86 per cent. Jio and Airtel continue expanding their subscriber base through competitive tariffs and 5G network rollouts, intensifying pressure on Vi and BSNL.

Vi has reduced its directorship threshold to 10 per cent for non-government shareholders as part of ongoing corporate restructuring efforts. The company continues facing challenges in subscriber retention amid fierce competition from larger rivals investing heavily in network infrastructure and service quality improvements.
