Canara Bank has kickstarted a mega savings bank (SB) account opening campaign in all its 5,182 branches across the country. This campaign has been launched as a precursor to the Government’s proposed Jan Dhan Yojna announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day Speech and slated to be launched on August 28. PS Rawat, Executive Director, Canara Bank, directed all 43 Circles Heads to set up camps in each of the branches to achieve the targets. Canara Bank shares ended 2 per cent higher on the BSE at ₹382.45 on Monday.
