A business pitch is your key to finding the right investor. A business pitch refers to the manner in which you present your idea to an investor.

In other words, it is about selling your idea.

It is a tough world out there. So, the entrepreneurs with the best business pitch are often luckier than those whose business pitches fail to attract the investor.

The key to the perfect business pitch is to ensure that the concept or idea leads to a win-win situation for the funder and the entrepreneuer.

 

Here are a few aspects that could help you chalk out the ultimate business pitch:

  1. Own the idea. It is after all your venture and you need to be proud of what you are going to be doing.
  2. Do your homework. Investors are choosy. For those of you who wish to use borrowed-capital, this is a crucial step. Your investors are likely to hound your with many questions before taking a call.
  3. Use data, but do not bore the investors with it. Let’s face it, too many numbers can make your head spin. Let your presentation be simple, comprehensive yet concise.
  4. Be open for suggestions and criticism. With an investor in the picture, your business is no longer only yours. So, gear for some hard-hitting disapprovals and an endless list of suggestions.
