About 82 per cent of 20.67 lakh kg offered for Sale No: 23 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association sold with average price falling to ₹77.92 a kg-the lowest since Nov 27, 2015 and a rupee less per kg over the previous week.
Among CTC teas from bought-leaf factories, Vigneshwar Speciality tea, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped Dust Tea auction and the entire CTC market when Oswal Tea Traders bought it for ₹211 a kg.
In the CTC Leaf tea auction, Homedale Estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe Fanning, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹203. Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, followed it at ₹201.
In the orthodox market, Kodanad topped at ₹266 a kg followed by Kairbetta at ₹200.
