At Rs 10, digital bricks for Amaravati are just a click away

AP's crowd funding initiative My Brick, My Amaravati gets a good response

My Brick, My Amaravati seeking to take up the capital city development through a participatory mode has begun to attract people from all over the world.

Under this initiative, a person can contribute Rs 10 per digital brick online and have his or her name engraved on it.

So far (as of 2.30 pm on Friday) 6.36 lakh bricks have been collected online at the site and the number is growing with each passing minute.

This is part of the crowd funding initiative of the Government initiated by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu ahead of the capital city foundation to be held on October 22, Dasera day.

Within a day, more than four lakh bricks have been subscribed to. Among the participants is an NRI from Singapore who has taken 108 bricks, and employees of the Capital Area Region Development Authority, among others.

The Government expects the initiative to gather pace as the foundation stone event and capital city development get underway.

Under the arrangement, the Government plans to have this formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22 at the capital foundation ceremony.

For all those who subscribe to these digital bricks, the name of the subscriber will be registered. One can buy these bricks by paying online through debit, credit cards and netbanking facility.
