Business advisors from 16 countries visited the office of the industry body Assocham here on Saturday to study the Gujarat model of development.

Altogether 36 delegates from these countries — Bhutan, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lithuania, Malawi, Myanmar, Mauritius, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uzbekistan and Zimbabwe — also explored bilateral business.

Bhagyesh Soneji, Chairperson, Assocham Gujarat Council, oriented the visitors about the growth of the State in the last couple of decades and credited the Government’s proactive approach with the acceleration in this development process, according to a release.

Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director (Training UEPA) & Training Officer, National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, explained the entrepreneurship quality of the Gujarati people and appreciated the State Government’s efforts in providing an enabling environment in the form of supportive policies, educational programmes, networking opportunities, appropriate schemes for bridging financial gaps and attracting big players from the country and overseas to grow.
