The West Bengal Government on Monday decided to deploy fire tenders at three State-run hospitals.
One fire tender will be deployed for 12 hours (8 p.m. onwards) “on an emergency basis” at the hospitals. The three hospitals are SSKM Medical College and Hospital, RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital.
The decision to deploy fire tenders were taken following a fire that broke out at the SSKM Medical College and Hospital late on Saturday night. There were, however, no casualties in the incident.
