Will he or won’t he? Both the ruling Congress-led United Democratic Front and the Opposition Left Democratic Front in Kerala are keeping their fingers crossed over Biju Radhakrishnan’s next move on the ‘sex CD’.

If the life convict furnishes a video clipping purported to contain Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s sexual act with Radhakrishnan’s former live-in partner Saritha Nair, the government will be a goner.

Radhakrishnan – who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife – and Nair are both accused in the multi-crore solar scam that has rocked the Chandy government for the past two years.

The Chief Minister’s career is on the line, and so are those of two of his ministers, an MLA and a former municipal chairman.

Thursday is the last day for Radhakrishnan to produce the evidence of his charge before the inquiry commission probing the solar scam.

A week ago, Radhakrishnan had testified before the commission that he had in his possession a CD containing a video clipping of the 72-year-old Chief Minister engaging in sexual acts with Nair. He also alleged that he had paid a bribe of ₹5.5 crore to Chandy for his complicity in the business that had him and Nair as directors. He claimed the clippings were shot by Saritha herself. Saritha, Radhakrishnan’s girlfriend-turned-foe, has denied the allegation.

The LDF, which is nursing hopes of returning to power in the next Assembly election due in April, immediately sought Chandy’s resignation, but the commission asked Radhakrishnan to present before it the CD within a week to prove the charge.

Unconfirmed reports say that he is unlikely to be able to present the CD to the commission on Thursday.
