The Haryana Government today termed power situation as grim, saying that paddy sowing season and lack of rain have aggravated power woes. The State is facing power shortage of 200 lakh units a day, against the demand for power at 1,600 lakh units.
“The power situation at present is quite grim,” said the Haryana Power Secretary, Mr Ajit Mohan Sharan, here.
He said ongoing paddy sowing at peak season, coupled with the absence of rain, have led to unprecedented shoot up in demand for power. Several categories of power consumers across the State have been facing long hour power cuts due to shortage
