Former Reserve Bank of India Governor, Urjit Patel has been appointed as the new Chairman of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy. An official statement said that he has been appointed for a four-year term commencing June 22.
Patel was appointed the RBI Governor in August 2016. He stayed in office till December 2018. His stepping down from the post was a rare case of a serving RBI governor leaving his job midway through his three-year term.
