Rejecting speculations that senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s meeting with him was a pressure tactic to stop inquiry concerning irrigation projects, the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan today said bringing out a white paper is a commitment.
Issuing a white paper on irrigation is a commitment to the Legislative Assembly, Chavan said after the weekly cabinet meeting here.
“We are a coalition government and discussions between two parties are normal course. There is a mechanism of coordination,” he added.
When asked about criticism that the white paper will not yield any substantial result to pin point accountability for irregularities in the department, Chavan replied “that is your view.”
