The private spacecraft Cygnus launched on Sunday from a space pad in the US state of Virginia, carrying provisions for the orbiting space station crew and other freight.
NASA said Cygnus was carrying 1,500 kg that include science experiments and hardware, and spare parts.
Cygnus, which launched from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, was making its second trip to the space station, in addition to a test flight last year.
The spacecraft is to dock on Wednesday. Station crew are to fill it with trash and return the craft to Earth, where it is to burn up during re-entry into the atmosphere.
The start was postponed twice from the target launch of Friday, due to bad weather.
On Thursday, Russia launched a Soyuz rocket from French Guiana carrying telecommunications satellites into orbit to improve internet access in developing countries.
