StarPick has taken its gaming platform to the UK and has collaborated for branding rights with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club (GCCC).
Fantasy sport is a popular online game played by enthusiasts, who use the athletes’ real time performance, analysis and statistical data to compete against other players virtually.
The StarPick platform, launched with IPL, has successfully concluded this engagement with users winning up to ₹10 crore.
It will now be extended to Football World Cup 2018, and will offer prizes worth ₹20 crore. “Our journey in India has been exciting and we are thrilled to be the first fantasy sports platform in India to provide our fans an opportunity to engage with their Wimbledon champion-hopeful,” Trigam Mukherjee, co-founder and CEO, StarPick, said in a statement.
Jonty Rhodes, former GCCC player and StarPick brand ambassador, said: “Fantasy cricket is a growing market in the UK and now is the time for cricket fans to sign up and create a team of their own.”
