In recent years, the construction industry has been upskilling its professionals, including masons and plumbers, to meet the new demands of material and technology.
Now it is the turn of painters. According to Nippon Paint's India decorative division, it has given professional certification to 10,000 painters across Tamil Nadu along with free professional training at the company’s training academy in Chennai. This should hopefully equip a new generation of painters to find employment in the smaller towns and districts.
The professional enhancement and new certification under the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation is to enable painters to move up the value chain as professional painters. “... This initiative will help develop a high skilling ecosystem and help these painters be more professional and equip themselves with the latest technological developments that are required to sustain in the industry,” says the company.
