Washed cottonseed oil prices increased up on the back of rising demand for forthcoming festivals.

A shortage of cotton seeds for crushing also aided the trend.

Washed cottonseed oil increased by Rs 3 to Rs 627-630 for 10 kg, while new tin was traded Rs 5 higher at Rs 1,105-1,115 for 15 kg.

About 35-40 tankers of washed cottonseed oil were traded in Saurashtra.

A miller said that crushing material is dearer because supply is tight due to delay in arrivals of the new crop.
