On the occasion of World Environment Day, Essar Steel Ltd and The Hindu organised a tree plantation programme at the annual training camp of 13 Andhra Battalion of NCC at Naval Maritime Academy.
Dr Soumya Mishra, DIG, inaugurated the programme and planted saplings in the camp area.
Mr K. Bhaktavatsalam, Head-Operations of Essar Steel, Vizag facility, congratulated the young cadets of 13 Andhra Battalion NCC for bringing energy to the activity, and requested them to plant one tree each and contribute towards the UN theme of “Forests: Nature at your service”.
The activity will continue for the next 10 days at Visakha Valley School, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, Sri Krishna Vidya Mandir, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan School.
