Spanish defence giant Indra has signed a strategic agreement with Indian technology firm AXISCADES Technologies Limited to manufacture aerospace and defence solutions in India, the companies announced at the Paris Air Show on June 16, 2025.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos and AXISCADES Chairman Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan at Le Bourget, with both companies’ leadership present, including Indra’s Chairman Angel Escribano and AXISCADES CEO Alfonso Martínez.
Under the agreement, AXISCADES will manufacture several Indra defence systems, including antennas for Tactical Air Navigation Systems (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for aircraft navigation and countermeasure systems designed to protect aircraft from missile attacks, including MANPADS threats.
The partnership extends Indra’s global manufacturing network while leveraging AXISCADES’ design, development and production capabilities. Both companies are exploring joint product development for Indian and international markets, potentially adapting existing Indra products or creating new solutions tailored to customer requirements.
The collaboration also includes evaluations for MPA Airborne Solutions and potential partnerships for DRDO CABS MRMR and MMMA programs. AXISCADES, with over 25 years of experience in aerospace and defence sectors, serves as a technology partner for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
Indra, which reported €4.843 billion in revenue for 2024, operates in 49 countries with business activities spanning over 140 nations. The Spanish multinational has maintained a strong presence in India through defence and civil aviation projects.
AXISCADES shares were trading at ₹1,278.10 on the NSE, up ₹60.80 or 4.99 per cent today, locking itself in the upper circuit.
