Bajaj Auto sold 225,529 vehicles in December against 289,003 vehicles in December 2015.
The company said commercial vehicles sales stood at 22,217 vehicles against 41,221 vehicles in the previous year period.
Motorcycles sales in the month were 203,312 vehicles (247,782 vehicles).
Bajaj Auto shares were down 1.40 per cent or Rs 36.85 at Rs 2,597 at about 9.45 am.
