Durgapur Steel Plant of SAIL achieved record August performance since its inception in all important product categories.
The production of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel were 105 per cent, 103 per cent and 96 per cent of the targets, respectively. The plant also witnessed the best August performance in the production of blend mix, sinter, blooms and billets as also special steels and value-added products.
The output of hot metal, crude steel, concast and saleable steel showed a growth of 20, 16, 12 and 6 per cent, respectively in August 2011. The production of special steel and value-added products recorded 6 per cent growth over the corresponding month last year.
