Two-wheeler makers Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India and Yamaha Motor India on Saturday reported healthy sales numbers for December last year.
Honda clocked sales of 3,48,737 units in December 2014 against 2,96,243 units sold in the corresponding month of the previous year, the company said in a statement.
Similarly, Yamaha sold 44,602 units in December as against 39,777 units sold in December 2013 in the domestic market, thereby registering a sales growth of 12 per cent.
For the full year, the company sold 5,66,586 units in 2014, compared to 4,61,814 units in 2013, registering 23 per cent growth over the previous year, it said.
“The year 2014 has indeed been an exceptional year for us as we launched our first family scooter, Yamaha Alpha, alongside the new versions of the FZ series and SZ-RR version 2.0,” Roy Kurian, Vice-President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales, said.
With these new launches the company maintained consistency in overall growth and the results speak for themselves, he added.
