Facebook has launched a mobile app (application) for Android and iOS phones. The social networking site claims there are 70 crore people using the site’s Group option to stay in touch, based on their interests and opinions.
The app brings all your groups at one place and the groups you use most come on top of the list. Like in WhatsApp and other group chat sites, it offers the option to discover your friends.
This, however, is an interesting experiment by the site as it could eat into WhatsApp, a phone number-based networking site that it bought a few months ago.
“We are introducing the app that helps people share faster and more easily with all the groups in their life. We built this app with the people who use groups the most in mind,” Shirley Sun, Product Manager of Facebook, said, while announcing the launch of the app.
The users will also get suggestions based on their likes and interests.
