Chinese telecom equipments and devices maker Huawei said that it follows all the latest policies/regulations while making its products for India.

For instance, the company was one of the first ones to put a panic button in its handsets when the Indian government came out with such regulation, a top official at Huawei India told BusinessLine .

“We are one of the first ones to implement such feature in our handsets. In quarter four, we will launch another two models to complete six models this year and they will also come equipped with all the new features,” Wang Guodong (Allen), Director, India Product Centre, Huawei Telecommunications (India) said.

Company sources also said that Huawei will also follow the latest TRAI recommendations on data privacy wherein suggestions are there that a customer can uninstall a third party app if not required, which come pre-loaded with the handsets.

According to Wang, with such feature-rich handsets, the company is aiming to complete the brand positioning of Huawei smartphones in India. The company also sells Honor brands of smartphones in India already, which are manufactured in Chennai.

This year our aim is to complete the brand positioning. These two models for first delivery come from China and later on manufactured in India. They can be manufactured at the same plant of Honor in Chennai.

“We will go step by step for other products like laptops, tablets or wearables in future. Once we build our brand then we will bring everything,” he said.

The company meanwhile, launched two new smartphones — Nova 3 priced at ₹34,999 and Nova 3i priced at ₹20,990.
