Othor AI, a vertical AI startup founded by entrepreneur Unni Koroth, has raised $50,000 in a follow-up pre-seed funding round. This strategic investment brings the company’s total early-stage funding to $80,000, following their initial $30,000 raise in February 2025.

The latest funding round attracted participation from prominent names in the Indian startup ecosystem, including Vara Kumar Namburu (Co-founder of Whatfix), Madan Galla (veteran entrepreneur and data analytics pioneer with over two decades of experience in enterprise data solutions), and Mithun Nair, an angel investor from Kerala’s startup community.

A media statement said on Monday that Othor AI, founded by Koroth and Nekender Shekhawat in September 2024, continues to gain traction with its specialised vertical AI agents designed for daily business decisions and planning. The company has shown impressive progress since launching its beta version in January 2025, with the product now having signed agreements with multiple design partners to validate and showcase its value proposition, it said.

Quoting Unni Koroth, CEO of Othor AI, the statement said, “The rapid early traction we’re seeing validates our vision of AI-native business intelligence. Having investors of this calibre join our journey, especially Vara Kumar, who I worked alongside at Whatfix, gives us tremendous confidence as we push towards product-market fit.”

The fresh capital will be strategically deployed to accelerate the company’s path to product-market fit and prepare both the company and team for an upcoming seed funding round. Additionally, the funding will support Othor AI’s plans for US market entry, positioning the company for international expansion, the statement said.

The company’s momentum reflects the growing demand for AI-native solutions in the business intelligence space, as organisations seek faster, simpler, and more secure alternatives to conventional BI and planning solutions, it added.

Koroth, along with his childhood friends, had founded the edu-tech startup Foradian in Mangaluru in 2009. After exiting Foradian in 2019, Koroth spent three years at Whatfix before embarking on his newest entrepreneurial journey with Othor AI. The company is registered under the Kerala Startup Mission.
